About This Database

This database is intended to provide students, families, teachers, and school counselors with information about degree and certificate programs, primarily within Massachusetts, which confer credentials related to data science.

  • To compile this database, Data Paths project conducted an initial search for programs in summer 2024 and then updated this search in spring 2026.
  • We conducted an online search using terms such as “data science programs” and “data analytics” in Massachusetts. We also searched for data science degree- or certificate-granting programs within each of the two- and four-year colleges and universities in the state.
  • The database also includes standalone online and in-person courses that are offered through programs run by Massachusetts institutions, as well as a selection of online classes and bootcamps offered through organizations based outside the state.
  • Across the country, there are many organizations and businesses that offer virtual programs teaching data science principles. We included a few that offer a wide range of data science or analytics courses and confer certificates of completion.
  • The data in this table are subject to change over time. Users are encouraged to review current program details directly through the links provided.
